Main Speech outline

First within my speech I will be examining the main purpose of this commercial which is to obviously sell the google brand or more specifically the google home device. They try to portray that the device is essential to those that want to remember the very important details about their life. They emphasize and almost overuse the strategy of pathos within this commercial. It is so emotional that you almost want to cry. It expresses a man losing his wife and wanting to remember everything about her. The nonspecific part of this commercial is that they are trying to show you what the google device can be used for, therefore, the not direct purpose of this ad. The audience for this was those who were watching the superbowl and as we all know, the superbowl commercials are always extra. Also, the importance of this device is illustrated because so many older people are developing dementia and they show that direct purpose within the commercial. The amount that this commercial pulls at your heart strings is incredible though and it is supplemented by the old man's unsteady voice that you can tell he has a great amount of love within it. Furthermore, the sadness is intensified by the soft sad music in the background. That, along with the home movies that he must have shot create a tone of warmth but also sadness in this commercial. Regarding ethos, the commercial validates itself on the note that they are doing a good thing by assisting us and it is ok to ask for help when we need it. Logos wise, it is also very good because it makes sense that we cannot remember everything but with its help, we can remember what we want when we want with the help of the google home device. Regarding my body gestures and actions, I will pace when I want to grab the attention of those in the audience and stand still when I want to make a point by also reiterating it multiple times. I will keep my tone of voice solemn except when wanting to make a point. I do not mean solemn as in monotone but as in respectful and in line with the commercial. I will use screenshots of the commercial as aid.
